Mercy Maternity Center
New Life International Development Partnership
The New Life International Development Partnership is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with headquarters in the U.S. in Portland, Oregon and a birth center in the Philippines. It is directed by Krystina McNeil, CPM, a midwife, and her husband, Matthew, a pastor, missionary, and church-planter. The Mercy Maternity Center in the Philippines is staffed by Filipina midwives and a rotating staff of international midwives who typically come for three months to two years to serve Filipina women in childbirth.
The birth center in the Philippines is located in the city of Davao, a short flight south from the capitol city of Manila. From the birth center, midwives do prenatal outreaches to nearby urban neighborhoods, like Isla Verde, to serve women where families have less access to care. All care is provided free of charge to the poorest of the poor in the islands of this Southeast Asian, developing nation.
As of spring 2014, Mercy Maternity Center has provided care to 21,000 women in childbirth and continues to be a significant provider of health care in this region.
