The birth center in the Philippines is located in the city of Davao, a short flight south from the capitol city of Manila. From the birth center, midwives do prenatal outreaches to nearby urban neighborhoods, like Isla Verde, to serve women where families have less access to care. All care is provided free of charge to the poorest of the poor in the islands of this Southeast Asian, developing nation.
DavaoAs of spring 2014, Mercy Maternity Center has provided care to 21,000 women in childbirth and continues to be a significant provider of health care in this region.
